Rest in Peace

He died a silent death, without telling anyone, and no one could save him :(.

Before you start making any guesses, I am talking about our dear Chandrayaan-I. He served us for 312 days before getting lost into space, less than half as long as the intended two-year mission.

I was particularly fascinated by the success of Chandrayaan. It was a stamp of Indian scientific prowess to the rest of the world. I followed all the news related to the project and would become as elated & proud as a child on hearing about the achievements of the Indian "baby".

But as all good things should come to an end, the Chandrayaan also had to. But all kudos to ISRO and other scientists related to the project. You deserve a standing ovation for realizing the Indian dream. Hats off to you!

And Chandrayaan, may you rest in peace!

Swine Land....Life changed :(

Week 1: Swine Flu -...ahh....crap.. one more "fancy" flu after SARS & bird flu......it has only affected Mexicans.....why shd I be worried
Week 3: It is only in North America: it can't happen to me
Week 5: It happens to only those Indians, who go abroad, I can't get affected
Week 7: only 1-2 cases in India, that too in Delhi, no need to worry!
Week 10:It has come to pune....I shd be careful....but chillax.....it has infected only city ppl till now.
Week 12: One death in Pune, 2 cases reported in Akurdi.......its just a matter of time now when it comes to Bajaj & then me...I am damn scared!

I am sure many my colleagues around me, must be going through same feelings & emotions from indifference to worry & being scared. Everyone around me is panicked & terrorized......& everyone means "everyone". The rumors are spreading faster than light. Nobody wants to go out, nobody wants to eat out, every time a person sneezes, or has fever, we look at him with apprehension.

But there's a silver lining too (sorry to bring this in this crisis time)......The "Tamiflu" manufacturers must be jumping with joy......the 24 X 7 news channels have again got a lot of 'masala' to show on air......innocent school kids have got their leaves......I ve started receiving calls from those friends/ relatives who
never bothered to call me in 2 yrs!

Jokes apart....i m feeling helpless, wat should & wat can i do now, this week i am planning to go to Malshesh Ghat for picnic.....shd i go or not.....other possible time pass activities....write blog(s).........call friends.. ne body with some better suggestions?? pls advice me......
Meanwhile I will just watch n wait...when it happens to me!

Love Aaj Kal- Pyaar ka naya Angle?

Yesterday I watched Love Aaj Kal (LAK). Finally I got to see a nice refreshing movie after a long time.
The film starts with & talks ab8 "modern day love" -where long distance relationships do not work & there is no place for any sentiapa! As the movie catches its pace, it manages to easily & successfully change our notion(s), and that too without throwing any big funda at us, it beautifully depicts that love & relationships are independent of time, place, distance and generation!.........from Heer-Ranjha to Romeo-Juliet to 1960's Veer-Harleen (Saif Role 1) to aaj ke Jai-Meera(Saif Role 2).

There are two stories running parallel to each other with Saif in double role. Both the stories complement each other well & where Veer Paaji becomes an inspiration for our modern day "mango man” -aam aadmi Jai. The director has done remarkable justice to both the stories & Saif has played both roles with great panache.
LAK is beautifully shot at various locations arnd the world but the best locations are without any doubt in dil walon ki saadi "Dilli".

In short,if you have not watched it yet, grab some popcorn and go & watch it today, for you will not realize how the 2.5 hrs have passed away.

Bid adieu !

These lines are not mine. They are written recently by one of my close friends. But I liked them very much, so posting them here.

Rafta Rafta guzarta hua har ek pal…
Kehta mujhse tu bhi mere sang sang chal.

Zindagi ek din inhi palon mein simat k reh jaegi…
Fir kyun nhi in palon ka sath mujhe.

Kehne ko to sath hi chalte hai-main aur meri zindagi…
Fir kyun nhi zindagi jeene ka ehsaas mujhe.

You are a hero, Andy!

I promised in my 1st blog that I would write in my 2nd blog about my beautiful trip to east, but there is something inside me which compels me to write before that about the spectacular final that happened last Sunday b/w Federer & Roddick.

A lot of stuff has already been written about Federer all over the world, about his charisma, about his record 15 grand slams & about his greatness............Federer truly is gr8( No second thoughts ab8 that)...........but this blog is about the phoenix, not the bird , the man- ANDY RODDICK!

After playing in Wimbledon Final in 2005, he almost vanished off the scene. At one point, he almost quit. But as destiny operates in its own way...the man who got inspired by watching the epic Wimbledon final between Nadal & Federer was playing the final the very next year at the center court of Wimbledon. He worked a lot on himself, lost almost 15 pounds in weight. With his will power & support of his girlfriend and now wife, Brooklyn Dekker, he bounced back .......& in a gr8 fashion.

He was written off by everyone.Nobody gave him an iota of a chance, but A-Rod change that all in just half an hour - he played the game of his life. After the first set only he had made many new fans and tilted the loyalties of many Federer fans towards his side. His first serves were unplayable.....It was a classic game of serve & volleys reminiscent of the olden era of Tennis.Bhuwan told me that the match would be over in one and a half hour. How could he had known that the final set itself would last for 90 minutes. His serve was not broken till the very last game, & when it was broken: A-Rod lost.

The true greatness of a man can be gauged at the time of his defeat. Roddick's post match conference says it all,He quipped "Sorry Pete, I tried to hold him off. & added " It was a pleasure playing in front of great champions like Pete, Rod Laver and Bjorn Borg and I still hope one day my name will be up on that list of Wimbledon Winners". Only a man with great character & spirit can manage such words of humor and strength at the time of defeat.

I don' t know when your name would be written on that list, Andy...but you surely have written your name on our minds.

You are a hero, Andy!
